Braid Practice

Hello natural hair lovers!

Do you know it’s totally wrong to comb your hair immediately after taking your braids off? Shocking isn’t it? Well now you know gliding a comb through the knots that has formed at the edge of where the kanekolon hair meets your real hair immediately after taking your braids off is a big mistake.  Say no to this after braid practice! This is a complete error most of us commit only to lose a whole bunch of hair. We lose the weaker ones, but combing it so dry will end up pulling more hair out than necessary.

It’s exciting to get all “braided” up, isn’t it? It’s beautiful. And it becomes a new ball game all together to bring them down.

Ever had that problem of taking those braids or weave out and having to battle with tangling?

So here’s what I do to curb my after braids wahala which helps a lot. Always my go to procedure. Enjoy!

#1: First of all own a spray bottle. As a naturalista one of the basic tools you should own is a spray bottle. Fill it with water and add coconut oil or any essential oil available.

#2: Section your hair into four (4) parts. (Depending on what you’re comfortable working with.

#3: Spray onto your hair and make it wet enough to make handling easy.

Now here’s the best part.

This is a do it yourself (DIY) recipe. The ingredients can be found on your kitchen shelf. If you’re a salad lover like myself you’ll definitely find these ingredients near you.

DIY Step 1:

  1. 1 Fresh Egg
  2. 1 Tbsp. of Olive Oil or Coconut oil
  3. 1 Tbsp. of Honey
  4. 2 Tbsp. of Mayonnaise

DIY 2:

  1. 2 Tbsp. of Leave-In condition
  2. 2 Tbsp. of Coconut oil

  1. Combine your choice DIY procedure’s ingredient together in a bowl.
  2. Thoroughly blend or whisk ingredients together for an even more uniform mixture
  3. Section hair to about 4 – 5 different parts
  4. Dampen hair a bit with clean water
  5. Apply mixture on damp sectioned hair
  6. Cover hair with a shower cap. You can add on a towel wrap for extra heat.
  7. Leave in for 30 to 45 minutes
  8. Rinse out thoroughly with clean water.

Trust me the result is amazing! Hair will become so soft and detangled. Wash hair with shampoo and conditioner to take out any product residue. Remember to shampoo and condition in sections to avoid any more tangles. Finger detangle as you wash. Rinse off with cool running water as this helps with hair health and shine. You’ll have the best results trust me. Hope this helped.

I will love to hear your feedback on this. Don’t hesitate to share.
