From seemingly nowhere, more and more people poured into the streets of James Town. The Chalewote Art Festival had been a phenomenal success, and for good reason too. The art exhibits, musicals and performances had me in a trance, lost in a beautifully immersive experience. There were so many desirable products on sale, having to choose between them was near impossible but I wouldn’t dare let myself leave without a few souvenirs.

Between visiting exhibits and seeking out mementos I was having so much fun I almost didn’t notice the all “naturals” around me. With varying hairstyles from Afros through Mohawks to Faux-hawk and buns, they seemed to be exhibiting an art form of their own, and it was both culturally empowering and gracefully captivating.
